Tiger works on the docks. The boss of the district, Bakhtawar, grinds the workers down; Tiger stands up to him, and the brother of Jumma, the woman he loves, pays for it with his life. Tiger takes his revenge and then has to run, leaving his name and his past behind. Years later he is living as another man, Shekhar, with two brothers. Then Bakhtawar surfaces again, and what Tiger buried comes down on his family. Mukul Anand directs the Indian film; three hours and four minutes, with Amitabh Bachchan as Tiger and Rajinikanth and Govinda as his brothers. It was the film with which Bachchan returned to the box office after a flat stretch in the late eighties. Its song Jumma Chumma De De was playing everywhere in India at the time.
