I Still Believe

This became one of the last films to play in American cinemas. It opened on 13 March 2020, took $9.5m in its first weekend and landed second at the box office, and then the theatres closed. On 19 March, Lionsgate announced a premium digital release for 27 March, collapsing the usual ninety-day window to two weeks. The story is true: that of Christian musician Jeremy Camp and his first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer shortly before they married. The title comes from Camp's song of the same name. The Erwin brothers directed. KJ Apa plays Jeremy and Britt Robertson plays Melissa, with Gary Sinise and Shania Twain in support. Who it is for: viewers looking for faith-centred, openly emotional biographical drama. Who it is not for: anyone who wants distance from the suffering. The film frames the illness as a test, answers its own questions from inside, and leaves very little room for doubt.
