IB 71

On 30 January 1971 an Indian Airlines flight from Srinagar to Jammu was hijacked and brought down in Lahore. The passengers and crew were released and the aircraft was burned three days later. India then closed its airspace to Pakistani aircraft. The film tells the episode as an Indian intelligence operation. Sankalp Reddy directed the film, which Vidyut Jammwal both starred in and produced. The version it tells is disputed: responsibility for the hijacking has never been settled between the two countries, and each side points at the other. One of the hijackers said years later that his own group had acted alone. Anupam Kher is also in the cast.
