In This Very Moment

Sylvia loses her husband’s children on a shopping trip in Poland. She cannot bring herself to say what happened, afraid of losing his love as well. So she goes home and behaves as though everything is fine. When the father realises the children are missing he starts to search. He is ready to give up anything to find them. Sylvia supports him in every way, comforting him and keeping his hope alight. For the first time he really needs her. Meanwhile the children are trying to get home on their own. The police find no trace, and when a vague sign points to Poland the parents set off themselves. Christoph Hochhäusler’s German and Polish coproduction, eighty seven minutes long, was completed in 2003.
