What International House Is About
Foreign investors gather at a luxury hotel in China to bid on a newly invented kind of television device. But this is a hotel where Burns and Allen are the medical staff, a measles scare puts the whole building into quarantine, and a madcap millionaire drops in on dinner in his autogyro. The hotel and the invention both turn into a stage: a parade of comedians and musicians running from vaudeville to the new generation. A. Edward Sutherland’s pre-code comedy puts W.C. Fields, George Burns and Gracie Allen together in one place.
