What Jiivi Is About
Saravanan, whose romance has come to nothing, decides to steal from his landlady’s house. He works out clever ways of staying ahead of the police, and then, once the job is done, he notices that what happens afterwards in his own family and in the woman’s house echoes one another strangely, as though what he did were the repetition of something older. V. J. Gopinath’s hundred and twenty two minute Tamil film was written by Babu Tamizh and treats crime not as thriller plotting but as a puzzle about existence. Vetri plays the lead with Monica Chinnakotla and Karunakaran in support, and it was released on 28 June 2019.
