Carolina Caroline

Adam Carter Rehmeier's film begins with Caroline, who works at a gas station in Texas. Played by Samara Weaving, she falls for Oliver, a con artist played by Kyle Gallner, and the two set out on a long drive toward South Carolina to find the mother who left her as an infant. Along the way they start robbing banks and for a while they are genuinely good at it. That is the idea: the robberies are not the goal but the means of keeping the journey going, and what Caroline is actually after stays ahead of them the whole time. Rehmeier builds the relationship not as a partnership in crime but as two people getting close while never quite stopping lying to each other. William Thomas Dean IV wrote the screenplay. Kyra Sedgwick and Jon Gries are in the cast. It opened in the United States on 5 June 2026 and runs a hundred and five minutes. Who it is for: viewers who like road movies and stories that combine crime with romance. Who it is not for: anyone expecting a surprise outside the genre's shape, since the film takes the road it knows and draws its strength from the actors.
