What Snack Shack Is About
In the summer of 1991, inseparable friends AJ and Moose take over the snack bar at the town pool as the latest in a long line of schemes. It goes better than expected until Brooke, a new lifeguard, becomes interesting to both of them at once. Adam Rehmeier uses every fixture of the teen comedy, the beer, the gambling, the terrible ideas, but what he is actually watching is the way a friendship wears through on its own. The film knows exactly what is left once the summer ends, and it is sadder than its packaging suggests.
