What Journey Through China Is About
Liliane, a nurse in her fifties working in the provinces, loses her son to an accident in China. She sets off to bring the body home, but once she arrives nothing goes as she expected and the days of waiting stretch out. Step by step she learns how the son she had not seen for years lived there, whom he saw and what he loved; a journey of mourning turns into a journey of acquaintance, and the woman opens a door onto a new beginning for herself as well. In Zoltan Mayer’s ninety six minute French film, Yolande Moreau plays Liliane, with Lin Dongfu and André Wilms in the cast. It was completed in 2015.
