Lal Bihari is a smallholder. One day at the bank he learns that he is shown as dead in the government records. Relatives who want his land arranged it. Lal Bihari sets about proving that he is alive. He spends years in government offices, in courts and among the files; nobody will change the paper. Satish Kaushik's film is based on real events. Lal Bihari remained dead on paper for nineteen years and founded an association together with other people in the same position. Pankaj Tripathi takes the lead. The telling makes comic material out of the bureaucracy, but what it describes in the end is serious: a record can be stronger than a person's existence.
