Karanlıkta Uyananlar

The film is set in a paint factory. The workers are under hard conditions, and Ekrem is a welder there. His closest friend is Turgut. Turgut is the son of the factory owner. He takes over when his father dies. The young employer sides with the workers. That puts him in a difficult position. Three workers meanwhile complain about the conditions. The company moves to dismiss all three. The union goes on strike, and the two sides face each other inside the factory. The screenplay was by Vedat Türkali. It is counted among the first films in Turkish cinema to take workers as its subject, and it met resistance on release and ran only briefly. Fikret Hakan and Ayla Algan appear in the hundred and fourteen minute film, a Turkish production directed by Ertem Göreç.
