What Keerthi Chakra Is About
Major Mahadevan and his unit move on an armed group reported to be hiding inside a mosque in Jammu and Kashmir. The film tells it from the Indian Army’s point of view and states that it is drawn from real incidents. Major Ravi, who directed it, was himself a former army officer, and this was his first film. The title comes from the Kirti Chakra, one of India’s peacetime gallantry decorations. The Mahadevan character, played by Mohanlal, went on to anchor a series of further films.
