Keto and Kote

A prince has run out of money. To put things right he decides to marry. His eye is on the daughter of a wealthy merchant. He puts a matchmaker between them. But the girl’s heart is elsewhere. The one she loves is the prince’s nephew. Her father forces the match on her. She appears to have no way out. Then she finds herself an ally. This person is a matchmaker too. Together they set up a scheme. The aim is to make the prince dislike the girl. The meeting scene turns into pure comedy. The film was adapted from an operetta. The songs in it are part of the storytelling. Medea Japaridze and Batu Kraveishvili appear in the ninety one minute film, a Soviet production Vakhtang Tabliashvili finished in 1948.
