Kireedam

In A. L. Vijay’s 2007 Tamil film, a young man wants to follow his father into the police, which is also what his father has always wanted for him. But the father pays for his honesty and is transferred to a district run with an iron fist by a gangster, and the son ends up having to take the law into his own hands to protect him, which puts him on the opposite side of the thing he wanted to become. That is where the film hurts: someone trying to earn a uniform makes himself unable ever to wear it. Ajith Kumar plays the son and Rajkiran the father, in a remake of the Malayalam film of the same name.
