Landscapes in the Mist

The film is about people using heroin in Belgrade. Its way of looking is almost documentary. There is no decoration and no distance. At its centre is a young woman. The story follows her life. How the addiction started and how it continues are both shown. The film does not describe method, it describes consequence. The people around her fall away one by one. The city opens no door to her. The telling does not set out to teach a lesson. It does not enlarge the pain either. It leaves what happened as it was. It ends in a heavy place. Anamarija Petričević and Rade Šerbedžija appear in the hundred and fourteen minute film, a Yugoslav production Jovan Jovanović finished in 1984.
