What Young and Healthy as a Rose Is About
Stevan Nikolić was born in Belgrade. People around him call him Stiv. He starts with petty crime. Then, little by little, he rises. Drugs and the movement of money are part of that rise. So is the support of the local police. The account does not leave his circle. Stolen cars and gang connections are inside the film. The work runs action, crime and drama together. Social criticism is one strand of the account. The city itself is the ground of the story. Dragoslav Nikolić and Aleksandar Gavrić take the leads, with María Baxa and Danilo Stojković also in the cast, in Jovan Jovanović’s Yugoslav film of 1971.
