Larry Kramer In Love & Anger

The documentary is about the writer and activist Larry Kramer. He came to the fore in the years when the AIDS epidemic began. He used harsh language against the wilful inaction of the government. He turned the same harshness on the gay community. He objected to risky behaviour going on unchecked. He was one of the founders of the organisation Gay Men’s Health Crisis. He was also among those who started the direct action group ACT UP. Kramer became known for his anger. One camp accused him of self hatred. Another camp saw him as the person who woke the community up. They credited him with moving the government and the medical establishment as well. The film carries both readings. Kramer himself sits in front of the camera. People who knew him speak alongside him. The account holds the history of an epidemic and the history of a rage together. Larry Kramer and Anthony Fauci speak in the eighty two minute documentary. It is an American production Jean Carlomusto finished in 2015.
