The film is set in the Quebec countryside. The events begin over the course of one night. A Black teenager is caught smashing a lawn ornament. The ornament is a racist figure. The neighbours gather together. They set about handing out justice themselves. As the night goes on the mood hardens. Alcohol makes that hardening worse. Racist talk rises and turns into violence. The film opens the next morning. Police investigators arrive at the scene. The account moves forward as statements are taken. Iannicko N’Doua and Robin Aubert take the leads, with Emmanuel Bilodeau and Sandrine Bisson also in the cast, in Robert Morin’s Canadian film of 2002.
