What Les Souvenirs Is About
Romain is twenty-three and wants to be a writer; for now he is a night porter at a hotel. His father, sixty-two, has just retired and appears to care about nothing. His grandmother, eighty-five, is in a care home and cannot see what she is doing among all these old people. One day she disappears, or rather escapes. Romain sets out to find her, and the search turns inward into his own memories. Jean-Paul Rouve directed and acts in it; Michel Blanc plays the father and Annie Cordy the grandmother. From David Foenkinos's novel. Light but sad, about ageing and being forgotten.
