Gina S. Noer's 2022 Indonesian film is about two school friends who make content together. Lisa and Sarah post ASMR videos online and treat it as harmless. The time they spend online, however, pulls both of them toward discovering their own sexuality and, at the same time, into far more dangerous situations. The film takes on adolescent sexual curiosity, access to pornography, a failure to understand consent, and how institutions behave after a sexual assault. It is one of the few Indonesian productions to handle those subjects this openly and was released with an adult rating. Noer does not judge her characters, and does not soften the consequences either. Who it's for: viewers who want contemporary Southeast Asian cinema about adolescence and gender. Who it's not for: anyone who would rather not approach sexual assault and abuse; the film puts them at the centre.
