What Lisboa Is About

Joao travels the roads selling video tapes. He calls at the bars between Portugal and Spain. His life is lived between those two countries. One day he comes across a woman in the middle of nowhere. She is middle aged and completely alone. She does not say where she has come from. It is clear, though, that she has somewhere to get to. She wants to reach Lisbon. It becomes apparent that someone is after her. Joao takes her into his car. The two of them carry on together. The longer the road runs, the more she tells him. It cannot be said that she tells him everything. What she is fleeing and what she wants in Lisbon come out slowly. Carmen Maura and Sergi López appear in the ninety seven minute film, a Spanish and Argentinian co-production Antonio Hernández finished in 1999.
