What Listen to Your Heart Is About
Danny is a musician in New York with very little to his name and an optimism he has not lost. He meets Ariana, the daughter of a wealthy family, and starts writing songs for her. Ariana has been deaf since childhood and therefore cannot hear the songs written for her. The film places that detail at the centre of all its emotional weight, and there is a problem in it: deafness is used here as the tragedy of the story rather than as a person's life. Otherwise a low-budget, predictable and well-meaning independent production.
