What Living Dangerously Is About
The film is set in Greece. The day is the morning of the World Cup final. Karamanos works for the telecommunications authority. That morning he wires a device to his commander’s computer. The device is both complicated and explosive. Then he makes a threat. The floor and the satellite dishes above it could go up. In return he puts forward a demand. He wants to speak on the national channel. The speech is to go out ten minutes before the match. What he means to talk about is the wrongs citizens live with. He wants to set out the favouritism and the corruption of the state. The account is built on that threat. Giorgos Kimoulis and Vana Barba take the leads, with Dimitris Kalivokas also in the cast, in Nikos Perakis’s Greek comedy of 1987.
