Livros Restantes

Marcia Paraiso's 2025 Brazilian film follows a literature teacher preparing to move to Portugal. Clearing her shelves, she decides to return five books she was given by hand to the people who gave them. Each book carries a dedication. The film is made of five separate encounters; some are warm, some open an account left unsettled in the past, and the narrative gives them as short chapters. Denise Fraga leads. The tone is calm and there is no large event. The books work in the film not as objects but as the record of relationships. Who it's for: those who like episodic narratives and films built around literature. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a driving plot; the film is made of conversations.
