Lost in Paradise

Khoi, a naive twenty year old, comes from the countryside to Ho Chi Minh City to begin a new life. It is his first time in the big city and he is looking for somewhere to live. He meets Dong, an outgoing young man who offers to share his apartment. When Khoi goes to see the place he also meets Lam, who lives there too. He decides to stay, but while he is in the shower, Dong and Lam, who turn out to be a couple, make off with all his money and belongings. The film does not present the city as a place of opportunity and does not turn being cheated into a moral lesson. The account shows each of the three young men caught in a bind of his own. Luong Manh Hai appears in Vu Ngoc Dang’s hundred and three minute Vietnamese film, completed in 2011.
