Love for Sale 2

Andibachtiar Yusuf's 2019 Indonesian film was made as a continuation of the previous one but follows a different character. Worn down by his mother's attempts to match him, Ican hires an ideal partner through an app. The question is who is deceiving whom. The woman plays the part perfectly and the family takes to her; when Ican tries to sustain the arrangement the lie grows and his relations with his mother change. Adipati Dolken leads. The tone sits between comedy and drama; the narrative takes loneliness and family pressure seriously. The close promises no romantic reunion. Who it's for: those who like Indonesian romantic drama. Who it's not for: viewers who have not seen the first film and expect a direct sequel; the narrative builds an independent story.
