What Love on Safari Is About
A romance made for television. Kira, an American web designer, inherits an animal reserve in South Africa. She will either sell it and go back to Chicago or stay. The blunt ranger who runs the place takes her out on safari, meaning her to warm to the land, the animals and to him. Lacey Chabert leads; Leif Bristow directed; eighty-four minutes. What will happen is clear from the start and the film does not pretend otherwise. One note: the shape of an American inheriting land in Africa reaches back to the colonial period, and the film never picks at that side of it.
