What Low Heights Is About
A man's son is ill and the father believes he cannot be treated in Iran. He gathers his whole family and sets off; they go to the airport. Once they are on the plane the man carries out his real plan: hijack the aircraft and get out of the country. The passengers, the crew and his own family are suddenly in his hands. But nobody grants him his case. Ebrahim Hatamikia's Iranian film is a closed thriller played out almost entirely inside the aircraft. The telling makes the hijacker neither a hero nor a monster; it shows his desperation without excusing what he does. Each of the passengers takes a different position and the argument runs from beginning to end. Leila Hatami is in the cast.
