What From Karkhe to Rhein Is About
Saeed, a young veteran blinded by a chemical attack in the Iran-Iraq War, is sent to Germany for treatment. There he meets his sister Leyla, whom he has not seen for years; she has married a German and built another life, and brother and sister struggle to know each other again. The operation gives hope for his eyes, but another illness shows up in his blood, and his condition worsens while the treatment goes on. The end of the film says that a war does not finish at the front.
