Luca

Luca is a gifted artist who makes work out of scrap, turning the castoffs in his hands into something else. Niharika, a researcher in industrial chemistry, comes into his life and a closeness forms between them. The film keeps open the question of whether the relationship will hold and looks for its answer without hurrying. The account takes Luca’s work seriously as an occupation; how discarded objects are gathered and how they are joined together sets the film’s own rhythm. Each of the two characters has a world of their own, and the story looks at how far those two worlds can open to one another. Tovino Thomas and Ahaana Krishna appear in Arun Bose’s hundred and fifty one minute Malayalam language film, completed in 2019.
