Luna

The film takes place over a weekend. The place is a house by the sea in England. It stands well away from the town. Two couples come to the house. They used to be close friends. But there has been a distance between them for a while. The gathering is for a birthday. The one being celebrated is an artist called Dean. Dean and Grant had met at art school. Grant has not drawn for a long time. The reason is the death of his baby. His wife Christine still sees that child. The film gives those visions through animation. Over the weekend old wounds are opened. What was kept hidden comes out as well. Ben Daniels and Dervla Kirwan take the leads, with Stephanie Leonidas and Michael Maloney also in the cast, in Dave McKean’s British film of 2014.
