Abdul Khaaliq comes home from abroad for a wedding. Leaving the airport he walks into the preparations for a political rally. A policeman shoots him. Then he opens his eyes and he is sitting on the plane; the same day starts again. Each time he gets a little further and each time he dies. Then he realises somebody else is inside the loop: the policeman who shot him. One of them is trying to carry out an assassination at the rally and the other to stop it. Both have the same day by heart. Venkat Prabhu wrote and directed. Silambarasan, S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Bharathiraja are in the cast. It is an Indian production in Tamil. The film opened on 25 November 2021 and took around one hundred and seventeen crore rupees worldwide; it was the first film of Silambarasan's to pass a hundred crore. The narrative uses the time loop shape and explains its rules to the audience one by one. The matter it treats is political incitement; the assassination is planned in order to put a community in the frame. The opposing character uses the loop too, and that two sided structure is the best thing in the film. S. J. Suryah plays the villain broadly and the film means him to. The narrative shortens the repeated scenes and tries not to tire the viewer. The film was talked about as an unusual genre attempt in Tamil cinema. The narrative names the question of religion and identity directly. Its limit is density; the rules are complicated, the narrative fast, and it is easy to lose the thread. Who it is for: viewers who like time loop stories and Tamil action films. Who it is not for: it is complicated, loud, and the ending long.
