Maïna

Maïna is the daughter of Mishtenapuu, the leader of the Innu. A bloody confrontation takes place between two communities. After it Maïna makes a decision that will change her life. She had given a promise to her friend Matsii, who was dying. To keep it she goes on the trail of the enemy. What she means to do is bring back Nipki, an eleven year old boy who has been taken. But she is taken prisoner herself on the way. The one who holds her is Natak, the leader of the other group. Maïna is carried off to the land of ice. Roseanne Supernault and Ipeelie Ootoova take the leads in Michel Poulette’s Canadian film of 2013.
