What Make Mine Mink Is About
In a mansion block in Knightsbridge, a set of middle aged and elderly residents gathered around a retired major take on an unusual cure for boredom: they rob furriers and give the proceeds to charity. The plans are impeccable, the execution rather less so, and things get thoroughly out of hand when their maid Lily, an ex-convict, falls for a police officer. Directed by Robert Asher, the hundred and one minute British comedy was adapted from Peter Coke’s 1958 play, with Michael Pertwee among the writers. Terry-Thomas plays the major, with Athene Seyler, Hattie Jacques, Elspeth Duxbury and Billie Whitelaw in the cast.
