What Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju Is About
An unexpected event separates a state level runner from the woman he loves, and she moves to Malaysia. Years later she comes back to India and the two meet again, but the misunderstandings that have grown up between them are enough to keep them apart once more. The film is less about love itself than about what time and unsaid sentences do; the account moves back and forth between two periods, setting who they were then beside who they are now. The Telugu title says as much, speaking of a day that will not come again. Both of their lives went on through the years in between, and the film does not turn the second meeting into an easy happy ending. Sharwanand and Nithya Menen appear in Kranthi Madhav’s hundred and thirty nine minute Telugu film, completed in 2015.
