Manneken Pis

Harry is a man of twenty eight. He grew up an orphan with nobody of his own. He arrives in Brussels with his case packed. On the tram he has a brief exchange with the driver. Her name is Jeanne. Harry takes a room in a block of flats. Denise, the concierge, is a little odd but well meaning. He finds work as a dishwasher in a restaurant. His workmates Bert and Désiré are jokers. Then coincidence steps in. Jeanne lives in the same building, on the floor below. The two of them slowly get to know each other. Harry falls in love with her. But saying what he feels is beyond him. The film tells this with a quiet and peculiar humour. Antje De Boeck and Frank Vercruyssen appear in the eighty nine minute film, a Belgian production Frank van Passel finished in 1995.
