Manoharam

Manoharan paints posters by hand and struggles to find respect for his trade once printing technology spreads. The work dwindles, the orders go to the presses, and he feels himself left behind. He tries to learn design software so as to get into the mainstream; whether he will succeed is a question the film carries to the end. The account does not glorify the old craft nor speak ill of the new technology; it looks at what the disappearance of a trade does to a person. It takes place in a small town in Kerala and is fond of everyday detail. When pride turns into stubbornness is the story’s real matter. Vineeth Sreenivasan plays the lead in Anvar Sadik’s hundred and twenty two minute Malayalam language film, completed in 2019.
