Nieri is a teenage boy of the Wixarika people. His father is teaching him the path of dreaming, wanting him to reach the Blue Deer and become a marakame. But Nieri is not sure he has the gift that requires. What he actually wants is something else: to play Mexican country music with his friends and to go to Mexico City to do it. The film does not set the two wishes against each other as enemies; it asks whether both can be carried at once, and it takes its time looking for the answer. Federico Cecchetti’s ninety minute Mexican film was completed in 2016.
