Marija

Marija is a young Ukrainian woman. She lives in Dortmund. She works as a cleaner in a hotel. Each month she sets a little money aside. What she wants is a hair salon of her own. Then she is dismissed without warning. The saving stops and the plan is put off. She struggles to pay her rent. She starts looking for other ways. She brings her own body into that calculation. She does the same with her relationships. The film does not present her as a victim. She makes her own decisions. It screened at Locarno in 2016. Margarita Breitkreiz and Georg Friedrich appear in the hundred minute film, a Swiss and German production Michael Koch finished in 2016.
