What Mario's War Is About
A court removes nine year old Mario from the family that has been hurting him and places him with a childless couple. Living together is hard and often painful for all three of them, because they come from two different worlds. To handle the loneliness and the displacement Mario builds a world of his own, where he has an imaginary friend called Schad Sky. Antonio Capuano is not telling an easy story about a rescue; he shows that the protection system is itself a rupture for the child. Valeria Golino plays the woman who opens her home.
