McConkey

The documentary is about Shane McConkey. He was a skier. His father Jim McConkey was a skier too. Shane grew up inside the sport. He later turned professional. He opened new ground in freeskiing. He is counted as a pioneer of ski-BASE jumping. He was known for a humour of his own. The film uses his home videos. Family and friends speak in it. Other names from the sport do as well. McConkey died in 2009 during a jump, and the film deals with that and with what he left behind. Sherry McConkey and Jim McConkey appear in the hundred minute documentary, which Scott Gaffney, Murray Wais, Rob Bruce, Steve Winter and David Zieff directed together, an American production finished in 2013.
