McDull, Prince de la Bun

McDull is a piglet in kindergarten, and his mother, Mrs Mc, does everything she can think of to secure his future: she enrols him in class after class and even buys her own grave on instalments. Impressed by J. K. Rowling, she tries writing as well, and every night she tells McDull the story she has made up, while he keeps asking for Harry Potter instead. The tale she is inventing turns out to be the story of the father McDull never knew, McBing, Prince de la Bun. Toe Yuen’s film is a sequel to My Life as McDull from 2001, and where the first looked at the child’s own life, this one looks at the hole his father left behind. The character comes from the Hong Kong illustrator Alice Mak and the writer Brian Tse, and Andy Lau, Sandra Ng and Anthony Wong provide voices.
