Soane is from Wallis: big, young, and unable to go against his father. Then an offer comes to play rugby in France. His father refuses. Soane goes anyway, and in going he openly defies his father, which in his own culture is a serious thing. Once in France, the life he was promised is not what he finds: clubs, agents, contracts and a compromise at every step. He knows nobody there and there is nowhere to go back to. Sacha Wolff's first film has Toki Pilioko as Soane; most of the cast are not professional actors. It screened in the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes and won an award there.
