Method

Jae-ha, an experienced stage actor, and Young-woo, a member of a popular band, take the leads in a play about love between two men. Young-woo has no stage experience and Jae-ha begins teaching him method acting: actually living the character's feeling, and not putting it down in rehearsal or outside it. The method works. The line between them blurs and what they build in rehearsal spills out of the play. Pang Eun-jin treats the acting method not as a pretext but as a real question: where does the difference between a role and a feeling end. The narrative proceeds through long scenes in the rehearsal room, and the audience is no more certain than the actors about what is real. Park Sung-woong plays Jae-ha and Oh Seung-hoon plays Young-woo. Who it's for: Viewers who like Korean drama, queer narratives, and films about the theatre. Who it's not for: The narrative is slow and the rehearsal scenes repeat. The resolution also stays uncertain.
