Middle Class

Kishore Muthuramalingam's 2025 Tamil film follows a family man in his forties. He lives in housing board quarters with his wife and two children, and his one dream is to buy land in his home village. The film shows how that dream keeps being postponed. School instalments, the expectations of relatives and small debts get in the way; the narrative gives the middle-class squeeze through humour and does not exalt its hero. Munishkanth leads. The tone is light and there is no violence. The production is small. Who it's for: those who like independent Tamil comedy and family stories. Who it's not for: viewers expecting incident; the film is made of everyday life.
