Minamahal

Jason Paul Laxamana's 2025 Filipino film follows a withdrawn high-schooler who loves flowers. He leaves flowers for a visual artist who says she hates love, at the important moments of her life. The relationship stretches across years. School, university and after follow in turn; the narrative sits between romanticising his persistence and questioning it, and puts her decisions first. Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach lead. The tone is light and there is no violence. The close does not quite follow the expected shape. Who it's for: those who like Filipino youth romance. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a fast narrative; the film covers a long span.
