What Moonwalk One Is About
The documentary follows the Apollo 11 mission of 1969 from the preparations to the moment of landing, setting reactions from around the world between the NASA footage: crowds waiting in front of televisions, engineers at work in the desert, celebrations, and people talking about what it means. The account treats the event not only as a technical feat but as a moment in which humanity looks at itself, with older beliefs about the sky and Robert Goddard’s first experiments running through it. Theo Kamecke’s ninety six minute American documentary was shot in 1970, took a special prize at Cannes and, after long being forgotten, was restored.
