Nelu is a man in his forties who works as a security guard at the local supermarket in a small town on Romania’s border with Hungary. It is a place where many people try to cross into Hungary and on to the west. One morning, while fishing, he pulls something else out of the water: a Turkish man trying to cross the border. They have no language in common, yet somehow they understand each other. Nelu takes the stranger to the farmhouse and gives him dry clothes, food and shelter; he does not really know how to help him. The man hands over all the money he has on him, Nelu takes it and promises to get him across tomorrow. Andras Hathazi and Yilmaz Yalcin appear in Marian Crisan’s hundred minute Romanian film, completed in 2010.
