What Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol Is About
Ulahannan, a panchayat secretary, has frozen inside a twenty-year marriage and a monotonous job; he and his wife Annyamma no longer talk and no longer really see each other. When a college reunion takes him back into his own past, he starts looking again at everything in the house. Jibu Jacob keeps the midlife crisis inside a family comedy rather than making it a joke. M. Sindhuraj wrote it, drawing on a story by V. J. James. Mohanlal took the National Film Award special jury prize for the performance, Meena plays Annyamma, and the film opened in January 2017 and did very well.
