What Murk Is About

Jacob's sister died on her wedding night. Everyone treats it as an accident; Jacob does not. He goes after his brother-in-law, works his way into the man's life and digs through his past, and the more he finds the further in he goes. Jacob's own life is not solid either, and where being right stops and obsession begins gets harder and harder to locate. Jannik Johansen's Danish thriller has Nikolaj Lie Kaas as Jacob and Nicolas Bro opposite him. The dread comes not from the event but from the darkness of the man doing the pursuing, and across one hundred and twenty-four minutes the film never lets it ease off.
